Antes de la inauguración oficial y en el marco de las actividades desarrolladas durante la feria aérea de Le Bourget 2017 están las tradicionales conferencias de prensas, presentaciones de nuevos modelos de aeronaves y también vuelos de demostraciones a la prensa. Fue en una de esta que el domingo 18 de junio, tuve la posibilidad de participar en un vuelo de demostración organizado por la Empresa brasilera Embraer. Fue la primera vez que el Embraer KC-390 era presentado a un grupo de corresponsales de prensa.

Finalizado la presentación del avance en el proyecto, por parte del vicepresidente y uno de los directores del programa KC-390 el señor Paulo Gastão Silva, el grupo de unos 22 participantes procedió a los trámites de controles de seguridades y documentos para luego tener la posibilidad de realizar unas cuantas fotos del propio avión estacionado en la loza. Cumplidos los procedimientos de embarque y el briefing de seguridad se dio por iniciado el vuelo, de una duración de una 1h10 efectivo permitiendo conversar con la tripulación y tener una idea de cómo puede ser un vuelo en una operación normal.

Embraer está ofreciendo, con el KC-390, un candidato potencial al reemplace de los Lockheed C-130 Hercules entre otras y se posiciona así entre el C-130J de Lockheed Martin y el A400M de Airbus. El motor elegido es el V2500 de IAE International Aero Engines que tiene con este proyecto su primera aplicación militar. Es de recordar que el V2500 está utilizado en la familia de los Airbus A320 (A319, A320 y A321).

Embraer quiere resaltar las capacidades de multifunción de su avión e incorpora la letra K para destacar sus habilidades como avión abastecedor además de ser un transporte de tropas y carga (21 toneladas contra 19 para el C-130J Super Hercules)

El primer cliente asegurado es la Fuerza Aérea de Brasil con 28 ejemplares. Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Perú, Portugal y la República Checa tienen intenciones de compras por un total de hasta 34 aviones y Embraer sigue con su programa de promoción, pasando por Suecia antes de su llegada a París para participar en la edición n°52 de le Bourget 2017.

Este vuelo nos demostró las calidades de vuelo y sobre todo potencias de sus 2 motores V2500 tanto en el despegue como en su demostración de aterrizaje corto. Una visita a la cabina de mando permitió apreciar el espacio disponible para los pilotos y también los modernos equipamientos de vuelo y controles a sus disposiciones.

Luego de sus prestaciones en le Bourget y al concluir esta feria aérea, el Embraer KC-390 tiene considerado una gira de presentación a clientes potenciales en África del Norte, Medio Oriente y Asia pero lo más destacado será su visita a Nueva Zelanda quien mostró un interés en el avión.

Before the official inauguration and within the activities carried out during the Le Bourget 2017 Air Show are the traditional press conferences, presentation of new models of aircrafts and also demonstration flights to the press. It was on one of this that on Sunday the 18th of June I had the possibility to participate in a demonstration flight organized by the Brazilian company Embraer. It was the first time that the Embraer KC-390 was presented to a group of press correspondent.
Finalizing the presentation of the advance in the project, by the vice president and one of the director of the KC-390 programme Mr Paulo Gastão Silva, the group of about 22 participants proceeded with the formalities of securities controls and documentation and then had the possibility to take a few pictures of the aircraft parquet on the ramp. Achieving the boarding procedures and demonstration briefing, we proceeded than with the flight lasting approximately 1h10 allowing to talk with the crew and having an idea of how can bee a flight in a normal operation.
Embraer is offering, with the KC-390 as a potential candidate to the replacement of the Lockheed C-130 Hercules among other and position so itself between the C-130J of the Lockheed Martin Company and the A400M of Airbus.
The chosen engine is the V2500 of the International Aero Engines that as with this project his first military application. It is to recall that the V2500 is used for Airbus A320 family (A319, A320 and A321).
Embraer want to highlight the multifunction capacities of his aircraft and incorporates the letter K to emphasise his abilities as refuelling aircraft in addition to a troop and cargo transport.

The first confirmed customer is the Brazilian Air Force with 28 aircraft. Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Portugal and the Czech Republic have letters of intention for a total of 34 aircrafts and Embraer continue with his promotion program, passing through Sweden before arriving at Paris for his participation in the edition n°52 of Le Bourget 2017.
This flight demonstrated to us the flight qualities and above all the trust of his 2 V2500 engines on take-off but also in his short landing demonstration. A visit to the cockpit enabled to appreciate the space available for the pilots and also the modern flight and control equipments available.
Following his features in Le Bourget and on conclusion of this Air Show, the Embraer KC-390 is considering a presentation tour to potential customers in North Africa, Middle East and Asia but the most relevant will be the visit to New Zeeland who showed interest in the aircraft.
