El último fin de semana del mes de septiembre, la Serena fue anfitriona para las actividades de salto tándem organizada por el club de paracaidismo deportivo Skydive Viña del Mar – Tandem Viña SpA. Estos saltos culminaban con aterrizaje en la playa de La Serena, en la zona de Cuatro Esquina para ser más preciso. El equipo estaba compuesto por los siguientes instructores: Víctor Ramírez Rojas, César Estrada Iglesias, Vicente Covarrubias Rojas y Marcelo Gonzáles Castillo.
Se utilizó los servicios de Aeroservicios Toqui Limitada quien facilito el avión Gippsland GA-8 Airvan CC-AEG para efectuar los vuelos correspondientes y la colaboración de su piloto María Isabel Carrasco Weber.

Inicialmente, si los primeros saltos estaban previstos para el viernes, lamentablemente la meteorología no colaboró para poder desempeñar los vuelos programados este día.
Para el sábado, si en la mañana, el pronóstico de meteorología fue reservado, a las 14h se pudo efectuar el primero de los 3 vuelos.

Los instructores, luego de haber terminado con la formación e instrucciones en tierra se preparan con sus clientes para dirigirse a la plataforma.

El domingo fue el día que promociono más oportunidades de saltos, realizando el primero de los 4 vuelos a las 8h15 de la mañana, seguido del segundo a los rededores de las 10 de la mañana.
El tercero se programó para las 14h y finalmente el cuarto vuelo se programó alrededor de las 17h.
Lunes fue el ultimo día de operación, con solo un vuelo programado.

Promocionar esta actividad en la zona de la Serena permite acercarse a los clientes potenciales de la Serena y Coquimbo, pero también Vallenar, el valle de Elqui, y Ovalle como fue el caso para una pareja participante a uno de los vuelos del domingo.

Un otro participante en estas actividades celebraba su cumpleaños.

Aparentemente, la sorpresa fue grande para este niño de ver su héroe aterrizar en la playa.

El club de paracaidismo deportivo Skydive Viña del Mar – Tandem Viña SpA fue inicialmente desarrollado por instructores de la Infantería de Marina de la Armada de Chile. Cuenta con años de experiencias y se especializa en cursos de paracaidismo, desde el curso inicial o de primera etapa hasta el curso de paracaidismo completo permitiendo la certificación United States Parachute Association (USPA) y licencias.
También se puede experimentar, a través del salto tandem, estas sensaciones de volar en una caída libre desde los 10.000 pies o 3000 metros, alcanzando una velocidad de cerca de los 200 km/h durante 40 segundo para alcanzar la altura designada cuando el instructor activa la apertura del paracaídas. Sigue entonces 5 a 6 minutos de evoluciones y sobrevuelo de la zona de referencia antes de aterrizar en el punto designado. Un lugar identificado de Cuatro Esquina en el caso de la Serena.

¿En qué consiste el salto tandem? Este es una variación del paracaidismo en el cual uno salta junto a un instructor, unido por un sistema de doble arnés especial.
Previamente La persona habrá recibida una breve formación e instrucciones en tierra en la cuales se detalle las fases del salto, la técnica para salir del avión, las posiciones que adoptar en el vuelo y en el aterrizaje. Las instrucciones y ordenes que seguir y el significado de estas.
Llegando a la altura de preparativos, el instructor conecta el arnés de su cliente a su propio paracaídas.
Recibiendo la señal del piloto, el conjunto se aproxima a la puerta preparándose para el salto y tomando las posiciones acoradas en la formación recibida en tierra.
Y con la segunda indicación del piloto finalmente se realiza la primera fase del salto, en caída libre hasta alcanzar la altura de apertura (puede ser unos 5000 ft o 1500 metros) cuando activan la apertura del paracaídas. Sigue entonces unos 5 a 6 minutos de sobrevuelo con el paracaídas abierto hasta alcanzar y aterrizar en la zona predeterminada.
Los requisitos son los siguientes: Tener un peso máximo de 100 kg. Ser mayor de edad o también a partir de los 15 años con una autorización de los padres o tutores. Tener una salud compatible con el deporte. Si tiene una duda pedir los consejos de su médico.
Presentarse una hora antes de su salto programado a fines de recibir la breve formación e instrucción en tierra.

Para poder realizar estas operaciones se solicitó la autorización correspondiente por parte de la Capitanía de Puerto de Coquimbo, recibiendo así una Resolución permitiendo la actividad deportiva señalada en el pedido y en el lugar solicitado.
Se debe también cumplir con las medidas de seguridad correspondiente, a saber:

-Personal en tierra que mantenga comunicación con la aeronave.
-Delimitar la zona de aterrizaje y mantener una persona en el lugar que asegure el lugar de aterrizaje se encuentre libre de obstáculos.
-Mantener una persona con la capacidad de rescate marítimo (nadador de rescate o salvavidas).
-Contar el lugar con un vehículo de emergencia y mantener enlace con centros hospitalarios por posible accidente.
Por la parte operación de vuelo, se debe entregar a la DGAC los planes de vuelos correspondientes con las horas de despegue y nivel de vuelo solicitados.

Igual si se informó la municipalidad de la serena a través de redes sociales, para la próxima actividad se informará al departamento de Deportes de la Municipalidad de La Serena.

On the last weekend of September, La Serena hosted the tandem freefall activities organized by the Skydive Viña del Mar – Tandem Viña SpA sports skydiving club. These jumps culminated in a landing onLa Serena beach, in the Cuatro Esquina zone to be more precise. The instructors, after having finished the training and instructions on the ground, prepare with their clients to go to the platform.
Sunday was the day that promoted the most jumping opportunities, making the first of the 4 flights at 8.15 in the morning, followed by the second at around 10 in the morning.
The third was scheduled for 2:00 p.m. and finally the fourth flight was scheduled around 5:00 p.m.
Monday was the last day of operation, with only one flight scheduled.
Promoting this activity in the La Serena area allows to get closer to potential customers from La Serena and Coquimbo, but also Vallenar, the Elqui Valley, and Ovalle, as was the case for a couple participating in one of the flights on Sunday.
Another participant in these activities celebrated his birthday.
Apparently, the surprise was great for this boy to see his hero landing on the beach.

The Skydive Viña del Mar – Tandem Viña SpA sports skydiving club was initially developed by instructors from the Chilean Navy’s Marine Corps. It has years of experience and specializes in skydiving courses, from the initial or first stage course to the full skydiving course allowing to receive the United States Parachute Association (USPA) certification and licenses.
You can also experience, through the tandem jump, these sensations of flying in a free fall from 10,000 feet or 3,000 meters, reaching a speed of about 200 km / h (About 124 mph) for 40 seconds till reaching the designated height when the instructor activates the opening of the parachute. What is the tandem jump? This is a variation of skydiving in which one jumps alongside an instructor, joined by a special double harness system. Then follows about 5 to 6 minutes of overflight with the parachute open until reaching and landing in the predetermined zone.
The requirements are as follows: Have a maximum weight of 100 kgs (a little more than 220 lbs). To be of legal age or also the age of 15 with an authorization from the parents or guardians. Have a health compatible with sport. If you have any doubts, ask your doctor’s advice.
Show up one hour before your scheduled jump in order to receive the brief ground training and instruction.

In order to carry out these operations, the corresponding authorization was requested from the Coquimbo port captaincy, thus receiving a Resolution allowing the sporting activity indicated in the request and designated zone.
You must also comply with the corresponding security measures, namely:
-Personal on the ground who maintain communication with the aircraft.
-Determine the landing zone and keep a person in the place to ensure the landing place is free of obstacles or persons
-Keep a person with the capacity of maritime rescue (rescue swimmer or lifeguard).
-To have the place with an emergency vehicle and maintain contact with hospitals, for a possible accident.
For the flight operation part, the corresponding flight plans with the requested take-off times and flight level must be delivered to the DGAC.
If the municipality of La Serena was informed through social networks, for the next activity the Department of Sports of the Municipality of La Serena will be informed.
