El pasado 12 de octubre llego a Santiago el nuevo integrante a la flota de Airbus A320 operando con JetSMART, la línea área chilena de low cost.
La aeronave es un modelo A320-271N (neo) matriculado CC-AWQ y adornado en la cola con un carancho, ave rapaz que se encuentra en el centro y sur de América del Sur.

Tal como lo comento el señor Estuardo Ortiz, CEO de la compañía JetSMART:
“Nuestra apuesta por Chile y el continente sigue a firme y así lo demuestra la llegada de este nuevo avión, que nos permitirá seguir creciendo y posicionarnos como la aerolínea ultra low cost líder del continente. El A320neo significa precios más bajos para nuestros clientes en toda Sudamérica, pues este avión ahorra cerca de un 20% en combustible y nos permite volar más rutas y nuevos mercados en el futuro cercano”
El 15 de octubre de 2021 realizó su primer vuelo comercial, el JA 54 con destino a la ciudad de la Serena y continuación a Arica para volver en la tardecer operando el vuelo JA53 en la misma ruta de regreso a Santiago, con escala en La Serena.

Los Airbus A320neo ahorran un 20% en el consume de combustible, 15% menos en emisiones de CO2, un alcance mayor de hasta 6300 km. Además, los motores CFM LEAP con el cual las versiones -271N están equipados reducen hasta 50% en las emisiones de óxidos de nitrógeno (NOx)*. Los oxígenos de nitrógenos se forman al quemar combustible y por supuesto el sector aeronáutico es una de las fuentes de NOx.
*(NOx es un término refiriendo a un grupo de gases muy reactivos tales como el óxido nítrico (NO) y el dióxido de nitrógeno (NO2) los que contienen nitrógeno y oxígeno en diversas proporciones).
Comparando estas cifras con las generadas por aeronaves de previas generación, la línea aérea opera un avión más económica, eficiente y sustentable y con un costo de operación reducido lo que permite unas tarifas de pasajes más competitivas.
La cabina de pasajeros tiene capacidad para 186 personas en un espacio y ambiento cómodo y con reducción de ruido notable. Pero el A320N innova en tecnología y ayudas al piloto. Tales como radares meteorológicos y sobre todo el sistema ROPS (Runway Overrun Prevention System).

El ROPS fue desarrollado por Airbus a inicio de los años 2000 y se probo por primera ves en 2004en un A340-600 y luego en el A380 en 2009. Integra parámetros de vuelo e informaciones de posicionamiento por satélite en tiempo real para establecer la posición exacta de la aeronave, a fines de permitir un aterrizaje más seguro y eficiente. Estos datos están combinados con una base de datos de aeropuertos, sus pistas y rodajes. Combinados con las informaciones meteorológicas del aeropuerto de destino, los pilotos recibirán a través del sistema informaciones de importancia acerca de la aproximación, aterrizaje y sobre todo punto de detención en la pista. Este sistema es de gran aporte sobre todo en condiciones meteorológicas margínale.
Este sistema es la respuesta de Airbus para encontrar una solución frente a los accidentes e incidentes de aeronaves sobrepasados la distancia de pista disponible, generando problemas en el trafico de aeropuerto debido al bloqueo de la pista.

A la fecha del 10 de noviembre 2021, JetSMART y su filial argentina operan una flota de 17 aviones Airbus A320. Cada avión lleva en su cola la representación de un ave o mamífero nativo y está identificado no solamente por su matrícula, pero también con el nombre del animal:
Para JetSMART Chile: 6 A320-232(SL) y 6 A320-271N es decir la versión A320neo.

Para JetSMART Argentina: 5 Airbus A320-232(SL)
LV-HEK Huemul, LV-IVO Cardenal más LV-HVT Jaguar, LV-IVN Zorro Culpeo y LV-JQE Pingüino Rey.
Los A320-232(SL) CC-AWH Jaguar, CC-AWI Zorro Culpeo y CC-AWG Pingüino Rey pasaron a Argentina donde operan con JetSMART bajo matriculas respectivas LV-HVT, LV-IVN y LV-JQE.

El Airbus A320-271N (neo) CC-AWP “Pato BancoEstado” partió a México el 6 de octubre 2021 para incorporarse a la flota de aviones de Volaris, como XA-VSJ.

El CC-AWM “Vicuña “fue entregado el 9 de noviembre 2021, también para Volaris en México, con la matrícula XA-VSI.

On October 12, the new member of the Airbus A320 fleet arrived in Santiago, operating with JetSMART, the Chilean low-cost airline.
The aircraft is a model A320-271N (neo) registered CC-AWQ and adorned on the tail with a carancho, a bird of prey found in central and southern South America.

The A320neo means lower prices for our customers throughout South America, as this aircraft saves about 20% on fuel and allows us to fly more routes and new markets in the near future «
On October 15, 2021, it made its first commercial flight, JA 54 to the city of La Serena and then to Arica to return in the afternoon operating flight JA53 on the same route back to Santiago, with a stopover in La Serena.

  The ROPS was developed by Airbus in the early 2000s and was first tested in 2004 on an A340-600 and then on the A380 in 2009. It integrates flight parameters and satellite positioning information in real time to establish the exact position of the aircraft, in order to allow a safer and more efficient landing. This data is combined with a database of airports, their runways and taxiways. Combined with the meteorological information of the destination airport, the pilots will receive through the system important information about the approach, landing and especially the stopping point on the runway. This system is of great contribution especially in marginal meteorological conditions.
  This system is Airbus’ response to find a solution to accidents and incidents involving aircraft exceeding the available runway distance, generating problems in airport traffic due to runway blockage.

As of November 10, 2021, JetSMART and its Argentine subsidiary operate a fleet of 17 Airbus A320 aircraft. Each plane carries on its tail the representation of a native bird or mammal and is identified not only by its registration, but also by the name of the animal:
