El pasado 23 de noviembre, el aeródromo de la Serena fue testigo de la llegada de 10 aviones siendo estos partes de una formación compuesta por aviones del Club Aéreo de Temuco y acompañantes en lo que puede ser calificado como un raid aniversario.

El grupo partió el 22 rumbo a Concepción. Al día siguiente, continuaron sus vuelos hacia el norte, con destino a Rodelillo y la Serena donde el primero avión aterrizó a las 18:06 horas.
El 24, luego de compartir un café con el equipo de Toqui Aeroservicios, se dirigieron a Punta Gaviota, aeródromo de Caleta Chañaral de Aceituno para volver a la tarde hacia Ovalle.

Y el 25 de noviembre regresaron a Temuco, haciendo escalas en Tobalaba y Chillan.

Los aviones participando en este raid fueron los siguientes:
01) Cessna 172N Skyhawk CC-STA Club Aéreo de Temuco: Lara, Morales y Yakovleff.

02) Cessna 172N Skyhawk CC-KSH Club Aéreo de Temuco: Cea, Reichert y Claudia D.

03) Cessna 172N Skyhawk CC-STW Club Aéreo de Temuco: Pellon y Appel.

04) Cessna 172H Skyhawk CC-STK Club Aéreo de Temuco: Mellado y Barria.

05) Maule MT-7-260 CC-AVX: Peña y Picasso.

06) Cessna 210K Centurion CC-CKS: Hucke y Echevarri.

07) Cirrus SR22-GS Turbo CC-ABL: Sandoval y Espinoza.

08) Piper PA-18-15 Super Cub CC-PHU: Magofke y Leslie.

09) Flight Design CT SW CC-PMG: Drien Y Mackenna.

El 22 de noviembre de 2021, el Club Aéreo de Temuco celebró 92 años de existencia, siendo este día del año 1929 que se dio inicio oficial a la instrucción de vuelo de sus primeros alumnos.
Recordemos que es el segundo Club Aéreo más antiguo de Chile, fundado inicialmente como filial del Club Aéreo de Chile (el actual Club aéreo de Santiago).
Podemos decir que el Club Aéreo de Temuco tiene una larga relación con la historia de la aviación chilena y, sobre todo, fue el lugar de acontecimientos e hitos importantes que se comprueben a través de la siguiente lista:
La segunda mujer piloto chilena, Viola Blackburn Melin, fue alumna de aquel curso, recibiendo su brevet el 24 de septiembre de 1930. La primera mujer piloto siendo Graciela Cooper Godoy en los Cerrillos el 26 de julio de 1930.
Dora Koeppen Maisan, la primera auxiliar de vuelo que hubo en Chile (en septiembre de 1943) y perteneciente a la Línea Aérea Nacional, fue brevetada como piloto civil en 1940 en el Club Aéreo de Temuco.
Lucía Almazábal Ortíz, formada como piloto en el Club aéreo de Temuco fue la primera auxiliar de vuelo mártir de la aviación comercial chilena, falleciendo trágicamente el 15 de junio de 1953 en el accidente del Lockheed Lodestar CC-CLD-0100 ‘’503’’ de LAN, al precipitarse a tierra luego de despegar de aeródromo de Copiapó.
Otra mujer piloto que se formó en el Club aéreo de Temuco fue Irene Paetz Stockmeyer, siendo la primera mujer piloto en dedicarse a la acrobacia aérea, ganando cierta fama en los festivales aéreo gracias a sus presentaciones de vuelo.
Luego del terremoto de Valdivia ocurrido el 21 de mayo de 1960, el club Aéreo de Temuco fue el primer club de Chile en participar en el puente aéreo.
Pero el 22, mientras sus aviones se encontraban en el aeródromo Hualpencillo de Concepción entregando ayuda para los damnificados, fueron sorprendidos por el violente terremoto de aquel día.
Igual siguieron con sus labores humanitarias y al regresar en Temuco pasaron a las órdenes del Grupo de Aviación N°3 operando en el puente aéreo, establecido en la Base Aéreo Maquehue, y que atendía la zona entre Victoria y Valdivia.

Pero compulsando la lista de los participantes en el raid aniversario está también el señor German Hucke, vice presidente del Club.
Junto con Armando Ide, otro socio del club, realizó en 2018 una vuelta al mundo utilizando un Piper PA-46R 350T Matrix matriculado CC-AQZ. Despegaron el 27 de marzo desde Temuco para un viaje de más de 65 mil Kilómetros, recorriendo 86 países dando por terminado este significado vuelo a la fecha del 15 de junio.

                                              Club Aéreo de Temuco stopping at La Serena

On November 23, La Serena aerodrome witnessed the arrival of 10 planes, these being parts of a formation made up of planes from the Temuco Air Club and companions in what can be described as an anniversary raid.
The group left on the 22nd for Concepción. The next day, they continued their flights to the north, bound for Rodelillo and La Serena where the first plane landed at 6:06 p.m.

The second Chilean woman pilot, Viola Blackburn Melin, was a student of that course, receiving her licence on September 24, 1930. The first woman pilot being Graciela Cooper Godoy in Los Cerrillos on July 26, 1930.

After the Valdivia earthquake that occurred on May 21, 1960, the Club Aéreo de Temuco was the first club in Chile to participate in the air bridge.
But on the 22nd, while their planes were at the Hualpencillo airfield of Concepcion, delivering aid for the victims, they were surprised by the violent earthquake that day.
Likewise, they continued with their humanitarian work and upon returning to Temuco, they came under the command of Aviation Group No. 3 operating in the air bridge, established at the Maquehue Air Base, which served the area between Victoria and Valdivia.

But checking the list of participants in the anniversary raid is also Mr. German Hucke, vice president of the Club.
Together with Armando Ide, another member of the club, he made a round the world tour in 2018 using a Piper PA-46R 350T Matrix registered CC-AQZ. They took off on March 27 from Temuco for a trip of more than 65 thousand kilometres, traveling through 86 countries, ending this meaningful flight on June 15.
