Tal como lo comenté en previos artículos sobre Chile, mis primeras visitas a Los Cerrillos tienen como fechas julio de 1973 y en estos años aún era posible contemplar las operaciones de LAN Chile en ciertos vuelos regionales pero también LADECO sin olvidar los cargueros con sus venerables Curtiss C-46 Commando o Douglas DC-6. Pero las nuevas normas regulatorias, impuestos así como el alza del combustible resulto en una crisis profunda provocando el cierre de la mayoría de las empresas operando desde Los Cerrillos.
En los años 80-85, en mis visitas a Chile por vacaciones, el cambio fue bien grande igual si aún existían unos cuantos talleres de mantenimiento especializados en los “propliners” lo que me permitió contemplar lo que serían quizás los últimos DC-3 en el aeródromo de Los Cerrillos. Pero a lo largo de los años tendría la posibilidad de disfrutar todavía de la vista de los PBY Catalina inscritos en los registros de ASPAR-Aeroservicios Parragué.
Las últimas fotos tomadas en este lugar de tantas historias y aventuras las tomé en enero 2006 es decir un mes antes de su cierre definitivo.

 

Nov. 1982 & April 1990

El Canadian Vickers PBY-5A Catalina CC-CGY es ahora parte de las colecciones del Museo Nacional Aeronáutica y del Espacio luego de un trabajo de restauración para representar el Manutara que realizo el primer vuelo a Isla de Pascua bajo el mando del Capitán de Bandada Roberto Parragué S.

El PBY Catalina CC-CDT es un conocido de los aficionados y sobre todo visitantes a las FIDAE.
Esta estacionado en la loza de la DGAC, en el aeropuerto internacional Arturo Merino Benítez.

El Douglas DC-3C CC-CBO es bien conocido por estar estacionado hoy en día en Puerto Montt. Me permito dejar unas fotos tomadas en el aeropuerto El Tepual en 2000 y 2012

 

April 1991 & 1993

El Douglas C-47 CC-CLL será el último Douglas estacionado en Los Cerrillos cuando se aproximó el cierre del aeródromo. Fue trasladado al aeropuerto internacional antes su venta a Argentina.
Está volando con matricula argentina LV-BEH

El Douglas C-47A CC-CLK es parte de las colecciones del Museo Nacional Aeronáutica y del Espacio.
Tiene la matricula argentina LV-ADF y los colores de Aerolíneas Argentinas

El Beech 1900-C1 N1501C es el ex CC-COJ de ALTA Asociados Latinoamericanos de Transporte Aéreo

El Aerocommander 680FL N680AC de Varmontt Express cambio su matrícula a CC-COA y estaba abandonado en Puerto Montt en los años 2012.
Lo mismo para el Aerocommander 680FL N113NA que recibió la matricula CC-CGO y opero sus últimos vuelos con Aeropuelche.

As I related it in previous articles about Chile, my first visits to Los Cerrillos are dated from July 1973 and in those years, it was still possible to contemplate the operations of LAN Chile on certain regional flights but also LADECO without forgetting the freighters with their venerable Curtiss C-46 Commando or the Douglas DC-6.
However, the new regulatory rules, taxes as well as the rise in fuel prises resulted in a deep crisis causing the closure of most of the companies operating out of Los Cerrillos.
In the years 1980-1985 on my visits to Chile for vacations, the change was very great even if there were still a few maintenance workshops specialized in the «propliners» which allowed me to see what would be the last DC-3 at the airport of Los Cerrillos. Nevertheless, over the years I would still be able to enjoy the sight of PBY Catalina registered in the records of ASPAR-Aeroservicios Parragué.
The last photos taken in this place of so many stories and adventures were taken in January 2006, one month before its final closure.

Nov. 82 & April 90

The Canadian Vickers PBY-5A Catalina CC-CGY is now part of the collections of the National Aeronautics and Space Museum, after restoration works to represent the Manutara that made the first flight to Eastern Island under the command of Captain Roberto Parragué S.

The PBY Catalina CC-CDT is a well recalled of the fans and especially visitors to the FIDAE.
It is parked on the tarmac of the DGAC, at Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport.
The Douglas DC-3C CC-CBO is well known for being stationed today in Puerto Montt. I publish some photos taken at El Tepual Airport in 2000 and 2012

April 91 & 93

The Douglas C-47 CC-CLL will be the last Douglas stationed at Los Cerrillos when approaching the closing of the aerodrome. It was transferred to the international airport before his sale to Argentina.
It is flying now with Argentinean registration LV-BEH

The Douglas C-47A CC-CLK is part of the collections of the national Air and Space Museum.
It has the Argentina registration LV ADF and the colours of Aerolineas Argentinas.

The Beech 1900-C1 N1501C is the former CC-COJ of ALTA Latin American Air Transport Associates

Varmontt Express’s Aerocommander 680FL N680AC changed its registration to CC-COA and was abandoned in Puerto Montt in the years 2012.
The same for the Aerocommander 680FL N113NA that received CC-CGO registration and operated its last flights with Aeropuelche.

Pictures of the British Aerospace Jetstream 31 CC-CZA in the colours of Aeromet were taken in March 2004.
