El 1 de febrero pasado la prensa belga especializada en el sector aeronáutico y turismo fue invitada a la presentación del Bombardier CS300 operando con Air Baltic, la línea aérea de bandera de la república de Letonia, con base en Riga.

 

Esta línea opera el CS300 desde diciembre 2016 y fue la compañía aérea de lanzamiento de esta versión del Bombardier CSeries quien remplazará a lo largo los 11 Boeing 737 en la flota de Air Baltic.
Se comenta también la posibilidad de devolver los 12 Bombardier Q400 al final de sus contratos de arriendo con el proyecto de tener para fines de este año 14 de los 20 CS300 en pedido.
La compañía aérea de Letonia fue fundada en 1995 y el capital esta compartido a razón de 80.5% por el gobierno y el resto está a mano de Aircraft Leasing 1, SIA, una compañía privada controlada por Lars Thuesen.
El concepto de Air Baltic es el de una línea aérea híbrida que conjunta tanto el low cost a través de su atención en clase economy ofreciendo un servicio mínimo con opciones adicionales para equipajes, comidas a bordo, asientos específicos, etc. Y una clase ejecutiva completa (Business class) con un servicio al pasajero tal como en una línea tradicional.
De este modo, Air Baltic es susceptible de satisfacer todas las categorías de pasajeros: empresarios y turistas.
Sus tres palabras clave son: seguridad, puntualidad y servicio.
La compañía tiene la mejor puntualidad de las aerolíneas con una tasa del 90.01% y esto por 4 años consecutivos!
En la actualidad, Air Baltic vuela desde las ciudades de Riga, su hub de conexión pero también Vilnius en Lituania y Tallin en Estonia a más de 60 destinos en Europa, Escandinava, CIS y Medio Oriente, incluida Abu Dhabi siendo este el vuelo más largo operado con el CS300 (6 horas 15 sin escala). Opera también en asociación con la mayoría de las aerolíneas en Europa, Medio Oriente y CIS.
La configuración del CS300 Air Baltic es de 145 asientos con una experiencia de vuelo única como asientos más largos y cómodos, espacio para equipajes más amplios, baños re-diseñados y mejorados.
La línea aérea fue honorada con numerosos premios: el de excelencia, servicios novadores pero también el mejor rendimiento global de horarios respectados por 2 años en 2014-2015.

Para su presentación en Bruselas Air Baltic tenía a la disposición de los invitados un cóctel bufete.

 

Luego de los discursos de bienvenidas del señor Léon Verhallen director del departamento Aviation development de Brussels Airport Company, seguido por su excelencia señora Ilze Rüse, embajadora de la república de Letonia ante el Reinado de los Países Bajos, el Reinado de Bélgica y el Gran Ducado de Luxemburgo. Y para terminar, unas palabras del señor Wolfgang Ruess SVP Network Management de Air Baltic, los invitados disfrutaron de la visita a la aeronave.

 

 

La primera impresión es la de espacio. Los asientos son más anchos que en los aviones de medio alcances que compiten en la categoría. Así mismo la distancia entre los asientos es algo más notable.

 

La presentación de la cabina propone filas de 5 asientos 2 X 3 y está compuesta de una sección Ejecutiva y una Economy separadas por una cortina modulable.

Ahora si los asientos son iguales en las 2 secciones de cabina, la diferencia en clase Ejecutiva está en que las filas tendrán solo 3 de los 5 asientos a la venta. Por ejemplo el asiento del medio en el bloque de 3 estará equipado con una mesa. Los bloques de cocinas son amplios permitiendo así un servicio complete al pasajero.

 

Por su parte la cabina de mando es luminosa y equipada de los últimos adelantes tecnológicos y al contrario de los Embraer o Mitsubishi está equipado del joy stick.
Pantalla LCD permite a los pilotos recibir todas las informaciones de vuelos u operaciones del avión. También dispone de pantallas HUD para los 2 pilotos.

La iluminación de cabina tiene el nuevo sistema de alumbre por led con coloraciones variables disponible en otros aviones tal como los Airbus y Boeing NG y MAX

Las ventanas son más grandes y un espacio más amplio para los equipajes de cabina está previsto.

 

 

El Bombardier es 4 veces menos ruidoso que sus competidores y es considerado como el avión más ecológico en el mundo con reducciones de CO2 y NOX de 20% y 50%.

Los proyectos futuros de Air Baltic son tal como lo comentamos es decir operar a lo largo una flota únicamente compuesta con el Bombardier CS300 y inaugurar más rutas en 2018.
Es de notar que con la llegada del campeonato mundial de fútbol en Rusia, Air Baltic volara a 5 ciudades de Rusia donde se desempeñaran las competiciones: Moscú, San Petersburgo, Kalingrad, Sotchi y Kazan.
Esto permitirá a la compañía aérea ofrecer las mejores conexiones entre Europa, el Medio Oriente, los países escandinavos y las ciudades huéspedes de las competiciones.
Cabe destacar que en octubre del año pasado (el 16 de octubre 2017) Airbus SE. firmó un acuerdo con Bombardier Inc. en el cual Airbus entra en el capital de la entidad que gestiona el programa CSeries a razón del 50,01 %. Igual si la sede central del proyecto y de línea de producción seguirá en Quebec, una segunda cadena de producción se establecerá en Mobile, Alabama donde Airbus tiene ya una cadena de ensamblaje final para sus A320 y familia. Esta unión permitirá a Airbus ofrecer 2 tipos de aviones de un solo pasío en el mercado de los 100 a 150 asientos que será un mercado de más de 6000 aviones en los próximos 20 años y para Bombardier quien vea el futuro de su programa CSeries respaldado por uno de los 2 grandes grupos mundiales de aviones civiles
Airbus trae su experiencia en la comercialización, el marketing y apoyo al cliente.

For its presentation in Brussels Air Baltic had at the disposal of the guests a buffet cocktail.
After the welcome speeches of Mr. Léon Verhallen, director of the Aviation development department of the Brussels Airport Company, followed by his Excellency Ilze Rüse, ambassador of the Republic of Latvia to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Kingdom of Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. For its part, the cockpit is bright and equipped with the latest technological advances and unlike the Embraer or Mitsubishi is equipped with joystick.
LCD screen allows pilots to receive all flight information or aircraft operations. It also has HUD screens for the 2 pilots.
