Hasta su quiebra en 2001, la compañía aérea nacional belga SABENA tenía una red de vuelos que conectaba Bruselas con una cantidad de ciudades en el continente africano y Buyumbura, la capital de Burundi era una de estas.
En 2 ocasiones tuve las oportunidades de visitar la base aérea de Buyumbura así como fotografiar el Caravelle de Air Burundi que en 1993 estaba aún en condiciones de vuelo igual si estaba estacionado en la losa desde hace tiempo.
A continuación les quiero presentar fotos tomadas en estas 2 oportunidades.

Until its bankruptcy in 2001, the Belgian national airline SABENA had a network of flights connecting Brussels with a number of cities on the African continent and Bujumbura, the capital of Burundi was one of these.
On 2 occasions, I had the opportunity to visit the Bujumbura Air Force Base as well as to photograph the Caravelle of Air Burundi, which in 1993 was still in flight condition even if it had been parked on the ramp for some time.
